The terms that apply to this website and to any quotation we give you.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by AC Generators ("we", "us", "our"), a supplier of generator parts, alternators, control gear, switchgear and diesel engine spares to commercial and industrial customers in South Africa. Our contact details are set out in clause 14.

2. About these terms

These terms govern your use of acgenerators.co.za and any quotation we give you through it. By using this website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We may change these terms from time to time. The version published here when you use the site is the version that applies. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.

3. Information on this website

We publish part numbers, descriptions, brands and images to help you identify the part you need. We take care to keep this accurate, but:

  • part numbers and specifications are supplied to us by manufacturers and distributors and may change without notice;
  • images are for identification only and the item supplied may differ in appearance;
  • listing a part does not mean it is in stock;
  • brand names and part numbers are shown to identify the application of a part. Unless we state otherwise, this does not mean the part is an original equipment manufacturer's part, and it does not imply any endorsement by, or affiliation with, the brand owner.

You remain responsible for confirming that a part suits your application before you order it. If you are unsure, ask us — that is what the quote request is for.

4. No pricing is published on this site

We do not publish prices online. Nothing on this website is an offer to sell at a price, and no part of this site is a shop: you cannot buy or pay for anything here. Every part is quoted on request.

5. Quote requests

When you send a quote request you are asking us for a quotation. You are not placing an order and you are not committing to buy anything. We are not obliged to accept a request or to quote on it.

Please make sure the part numbers, quantities and contact details you give us are correct. We quote on the information you provide.

6. Our quotations

A quotation we send you:

  • is valid for the period stated on it, and where no period is stated, for seven (7) days from its date;
  • is subject to the part still being available when you accept it;
  • states whether the amounts are inclusive or exclusive of VAT, and whether delivery is included;
  • may be withdrawn or corrected before you accept it, including where it contains an obvious error.

7. Orders and when a contract is formed

A contract of sale comes into existence only when we accept your order in writing, or deliver the goods, whichever happens first. Acknowledging receipt of an order is not acceptance of it.

Where goods must be ordered in specially for you, or are made or modified to your specification, we will tell you before we accept the order, and that order cannot be cancelled once we have placed it with our supplier.

8. Delivery and collection

You may collect from our premises during business hours, or we can arrange delivery. Delivery and lead times we give you are estimates based on information from our suppliers and carriers. We are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control.

Please check goods on receipt. Shortages or visible damage must be reported to us in writing within seven (7) days of delivery or collection so that we can take it up with the carrier or supplier.

9. Warranties and returns

Parts we supply carry the warranty given by the manufacturer or supplier of that part, for the period and on the terms that they set. We will pass on and help you claim under that warranty.

A warranty will not apply where the failure results from incorrect specification or selection by you, incorrect fitment, misuse, neglect, accident, unauthorised repair or modification, or use outside the manufacturer's stated operating conditions.

Returns of correctly supplied goods are at our discretion, must be arranged with us beforehand, and the goods must be unused, in original packaging and in resaleable condition. A handling fee may apply. Special-order and made-to-specification items cannot be returned unless they are defective.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where that Act applies to our dealings with you.

10. Acceptable use of this website

You may use this website for your own business or personal purposes. You may not:

  • copy, scrape, harvest or republish our catalogue, descriptions or images in bulk, or use them to build a competing listing or dataset;
  • use automated tools to place load on the site, or attempt to gain access to any part of it you are not authorised to use;
  • submit false contact details, or use the quote and contact forms to send unsolicited marketing, spam or anything unlawful;
  • introduce malicious code or otherwise interfere with the operation of the site.

11. Intellectual property

The layout, design, text, graphics and arrangement of this website, and the AC Generators name and logo, belong to us or are used by us under licence, and are protected by South African and international law. You may not reproduce them without our written permission.

Third-party brand names, trade marks and part numbers shown on this site remain the property of their respective owners.

12. Limitation of liability

This website and its content are provided as they stand. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, production, revenue, contracts or data, arising from your use of this website or from information on it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Links to other websites

Where we link to a website we do not control, we do so for convenience only. We are not responsible for the content of that site or for its handling of your information.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a term at any time does not mean we give up the right to enforce it later.
